'The Librarians' Season 2 Renewal News: TNT Orders 10 More Episodes

The TV series "The Librarians' has been commissioned by TNT to air another season made up of ten episodes.

The series, which is produced by Dean Devlin's Electric Entertainment, revolves around a team of four people who travel around the world in a quest to safeguard magical, mystical treasures. The series stars Rebecca Romijn, Christian Kane, Lindy Booth, and John Kim. The second is set to launch later this year.

The cast also includes John Larroquette, and in a recurring role, Noah Wyle, who stars in "Librarian' the TV-movies on which the series is based on, and an executive producer on the series, according to the NBC.

According to Deadline, Wyle is expected to appear in 4-5 episodes and direct one.

TNT has come up with a press release on the show, which reads:

"'The Librarian's burst onto the scene with a chart-topping launch in December and went on to finish the year as basic cable's #2 new series of 2014, second only to TNT's 'The Last Ship.' The show's success extends across TNT's multiple platforms, with each week's episode reaching an average of 11.4 million viewers through linear telecasts, DVR playback and VOD, digital and mobile viewing. TNT has ordered 10 episodes for the second season, which is slated to launch later this year," according to Oregon Live.

According to Deadline, "The Librarians' ranked as basic cable's No. 2 new series of 2014, during Season 1. There is good reason for TNT to commission a second season since the first season averaged a viewership of 11.4 million viewers per episode.
