'The Lego Movie' Producers Promise to Include All Batman Era Films in Time for 2017 Release Date
'The Lego Movie' producers Phil Lord and Chris Miller have promised to introduce every Batman that filmmakers in the past have made, taking advantage of the rich history of the caped crusader.
More specifically, Miller assured fans that "every era of Batman filmmaking will be acknowledged."
The directors discussed about the upcoming spinoff and the various "Batmen" that will be present in the movie in their exclusive interview with Empire Magazine.
"There have been so many interpretations of Batman and there is so much to play with here," Miller said, "There are 40 versions of his origin story alone."
For instance, some of the incarnations of Batman that viewers can expect include: Bob Kane of the Golden Age Era from 1939 to 1950; Adam West from ABC's Batman Series from 1966 to 1968; Batman of the Alan Moore and Frank Miller Era from 1986 to 1988; Tim Burton's Batman from 1989 to 1992; Batman of Batman: The Animated Series from 1992 to 1995; Joel Schumacher's Batman from 1995 to 1997; Christopher Nolan's Batman from 2005 to 2012; and more.
In addition, Miller and Lord also commented about the idea of adding more spinoffs to 'The Lego Movie'.
"The thing about these movies is that each of them have their own tone and their own voice," Miller said, "Each one of them feels like its own movie, but obviously they all exist in the universe that the Lego movie existed in, and so finding that balance has been part of the trick."
Lord added, "It's like we started with The Avengers and now we're going to spin off and explore the different worlds, then come back."
'The Lego Batman Movie' is set to hit theaters on Feb. 10, 2017, while 'The Lego Movie 2' is set for a 2018 release.
