‘The Legend Of Tarzan’ 2016 Movie: Trailer Released, David Yates’ Tarzan Comparable To Superheroes?

With the release of David Yates' "The Legend of Tarzan" film trailer, it is assumed that the film is set to feature Tarzan with superhero qualities.

Released by Warner Bros. Pictures, the trailer featured the dense forest, one of the film's setting. There were also groups of people from the jungle tribes, miners, and apes, giving fans a feel of "Planet of the Apes" scenarios. Fans also got a glimpse on Margot Robbie's Jane Porter and Alexander Skarsgard's ripped Tarzan.

Tarzan and superheroes share a catalogue of extraordinary qualities, according to Cinelinx. Just like known superheroes from the comic books, Tarzan possesses superhuman strength, speed, and agility, not to mention that his senses are more than the average human capacity.

Yates' Tarzan is also comparable with DC's Batman and Marvel's Wolverine, according to the report. Both Tarzan's and Batman's parents died early, which led them to adapt physically and mentally in an environment far from their place of origin. Then, Tarzan and Wolverine share the same savagery when it comes to their mercy and combat skills.

According to Slash Film, Yates' "The Legend of Tarzan" is set to feature a more grounded cinematic adaptation of Edgar Rice Burrough's 1914 novel of the same name. While it is assumed that the film is going to raise the bar a higher level than Disney's take on "John Carter of Mars," the trailer lacked some cinematics, which Yates and his team can still fix just in time prior to the film's release.

"The Legend of Tarzan" follows Tarzan, the king of the Jungle, as he goes back to his former home in the jungle to check on the activities of a mining encampment.

The film stars Simon Russell Beale, Djimon Hounsou, John Hurt, Casper Crump, Samuel L. Jackson, Christopher Waltz, Ella Purnell, Rory Saper, Robbie as Jane Porter and Skarsgard as Tarzan.

With Yates at the helm of the film, "Pirates of the Caribbean 6's" Stuart Beattie, "Empire's" Craig Brewer, and "Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit's" Adam Cozad were in charge of the film script. Bruce Berman, Susan Ekins, and Nikolas Korda co-produced the film, among others.

Yates' "The Legend of Tarzan" is set to premiere in theaters in the United States on July 1, 2016.
