Tom Chandler is set to work on the final leg of his mission in the upcoming episode of "The Last Ship" season 3.

Titled "Dog Day," episode 6 will follow Chandler as he attempts to save his crew. The segment will also reveal what is in store for President Michener.

"Chandler's mission comes to a head as he prepares the final part of his plan. President Michener ponders the fate of his presidency," reads the synopsis for the episode.

Spoilers for the episode suggest that Chandler's plan to deal with his new enemy will reach a precarious point, so he will be compelled to execute his final plan. Fans have yet to know if his plan will get him out of the situation alive. What lies ahead of him will greatly depend on his final plan working out.

The upcoming episode will also focus on President Michener, who has been facing so much scrutiny by the press since the previous episode. The events of late have put his position in so much danger that he may be forced to make hard decisions and step down if he fails to get things back to normal.

Speaking about the focus of season 3, showrunner Hank Steinberg said, "In season 3, the storyline is split between the action in Asia and the presidency in the new White House in St. Louis. The drama is between geo-political issues of how to hold the country together and the question of how many resources should we give to saving the rest of the world when America is stretched every thin and trying to repair itself."

Meanwhile, it remains to be seen if something good awaits Sasha and Chandler after their romantic kiss in the previous episode. The possibility cannot be ruled out, considering that they left the episode in good terms.
