The Last Of Us: Outbreak Day 2016 News: Is Poster Symbolic?
Naughty Dog has released a poster for its video game "The Last of Us" to commemorate the Outbreak Day and it may have a several meanings.
According to PlayStation blog, Outbreak Day is a yearly fan celebration dated Sept. 26. It features the game deals, DLCs, merchandise, along with the debut of various game collectibles, among others.
The poster shows an arm pointing downwards, holding a knife. Plants can be seen growing from the arms veins, along with three butterflies - one on the arm, one flying the air, and one resting on the knife's blade. The poster's background sees some branches or roots and the bottom part of it sees the game title. Overall, it is assumed that the poster has a symbolic representation.
In a statement, as per Naughty Dog's website, Naughty Dog Senior Communications Manager Scott Lowe said that this year, they had wanted to create something special, so they had teamed up with Mondo to create a limited edition poster inspired by "The Last of Us." he added that the poster was made by Kevin Tong, in collaboration with the studio.
"This incredible design is part of a small volume production and each will be individually hand numbered and signed by the artist," Lowe said.
The poster was on-sale on Sept. 26, at 10:00 a.m. PDT/ 1:00 p.m. EDT/ 7:00 p.m. CEST on MondoTees.com. As per reports, the number of posters sold is limited. Also, the sale is set to push next week and include discounts on the "The Last of Us" Remastered, the Outbreak Day PlayStation 4 theme, select multiplayer add-ons, and "Left Behind" standalone DLC.
Developed by Naughty Dogs, "The Last of Us" was first released in June 2013.
