The teaser for "Uncharted 4" has given a huge Easter egg for "The Last of Us 2," and may have even confirmed that Ellie will not be returning to the Last of Us sequel, according to the latest rumors.

Twinfinite ran an article speculating on the teaser, in particular the epilogue, where a photo of a female wearing a gas mask can be seen standing in the wastelands.

The title was deliberately covered by some polaroid pictures, but it's clear that it reads "The Last of Us" and "American Daughters" underneath.

"It looks a lot like Ellie, but the fact someone who is immune to the infection would be wearing a gas-mask puts that in to question. Perhaps this is Ellie's mother?" Twinfinite reports.

The connection between the two games runs deep. It's no secret that Neil Druckmann and Bruce Straley were waylaid into working on "Uncharted 4" while they were looking for ideas for "The Last of Us 2." In this regard, it would not be much of a stretch for the two to put their imprint in the game, and give fans a tease of what's to expect.

Meanwhile, IG Critic says that Naughty Dog should follow through with "The Last of Us 2" considering all the news reports and rumors surrounding the game, which only served to build up the hype more.

Besides, the success of "Uncharted 4" can only mean good things for "The Last of Us 2."

"'Uncharted 4' is a magnificent achievement and something to be celebrated, but it has also given us so many reasons to be excited for 'The Last Of Us 2,'" the website says.
