'The Last of Us 2' Release Date, Rumors, Update: Second Game Features A Pregnant Ellie, New Characters?
Following a leaked posted from "Uncharted 4," it is now rumored that "The Last of Us 2" is currently being developed, with talks about a pregnant Ellie and the introduction of new characters.
Speculations rose after "Uncharted 4" players obtained the leaked copies of the game, which apparently came with a poster, which is presumably "The Last of Us 2." The photo sees a young girl, who looks like Ellie, as evidenced by her hair, built, and apparel.
It is also notable that the girl, who is also holding a gun, has a bump on her belly, which suggests that she could be pregnant in the sequel. The aforementioned poster also contains the title "The Last of Us: American Daughters," which add to the speculations about the sequel, according to Vine Report.
With the aforementioned details, fans speculate that the girl in the picture is a pregnant Ellie; however, it is unknown whether the child she is carrying is immune to the virus, just like her, as per HNGN. In addition, more details on her and Joel are yet to be revealed.
Along with Ellie and Joe, "The Last of Us 2" may also introduce new characters. In his interview with PlayStation Magazine, as cited by Games Radar, "The Last of Us" creative director Neil Druckmann said that he and Bruce Straley had been brainstorming ideas for the game with new characters, ideas for "The Last of Us 2" with Joel and Ellie, ideas for a sci-fi game, ideas for a fantasy game, and building prototypes for each one of those ideas.
Previously, the news about an upcoming "The Last of Us 2" was vague; however, it was in Sept. 2015 when Naughty Dpg's Josh Scherr accidentally confirmed during a livestream for "Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection" that the game sequel was actually set to come.
Developed by Naughty Dog and Sony Computer Entertainment, "The Last of Us" was first released on June 14, 2013. Meanwhile, the release date for "The Last of Us 2" is yet to be revealed.
