'The Last of Us 2' Release Date, News & Rumors: Game Coming In 2021, ‘Uncharted 4’ Cause Of Delay?
New details on the release of Naughty Dog's "The Last of Us 2" have surfaced. As per reports, the game is set to come out after five years.
"The Last of Us 2" is expected to be released in 2021, News Every Day has learned, as cited by Parent Herald. As per the publication, the information came from Naughty Dog lead designer Neil Druckmann. In addition, rumors also say that the studio has been working on releasing the "Uncharted" sequel.
In line with the forthcoming game, it is assumed that a 2021 release follows positive response from the players, such as the delivery of a high quality game. According to Parent Herald, the game is set to feature character introduction to the storyline and older Joel and Ellie, along with a probable Nintendo Switch release.
The delay is reportedly due to "Uncharted 4," according to Games Radar, as cited by Mobile and Apps. As per the publication, Druckmann said that without going into specific genres, there had been ideas outside "The Last of Us," adding that all things had been left on hold when they had to come onto "Uncharted 4" to direct the project.
In a statement, as cited by PlayStation Universe, Nolan North said that the game did exist. Troy Baker, who voiced Joel in the game's predecessor, said that the sequel to the horror game was not in the scene; however, North confirmed months after that Naughty Dog was actually working on the game.
Developed by Naughty Dog, "The Last of Us" was initially released for PS3 and PS4 in 2013. "The Last of Us 2" is expected to launch in 2021.
