‘The Incredibles 2’ Movie News, Rumors: Jack-Jack Story Arc in Upcoming Sequel?

Disney Pixar's award-winning superhero family 'The Incredibles' is in the works for the second movie, one decade after the first movie hit the cinemas. In addition to that, a 2016 release date might just be the launch window to bank on.

News about the sequel was provided by Christian Post and the report mentioned that the famous TV scriptwriter and director, Brad Bird, is part of the production much like the first 'Incredibles' movie. Bird also directed famous children's movie "Ratatouille" under Disney Pixar and "The Iron Giant" under Warner Bros.

The director's return however does not imply the return of the original members of the voice cast. There has not been any news about award-winning actor, Craig T. Nelson's part in the sequel. Also, it is likely that a more appropriate set of voice actors would be needed especially for the Parr children.

Speculations about the story arc might involve a teenage Jack-Jack, youngest among the Parr siblings, and his probable pubescence issues with his horde of superpowers from what was shown previously like laser-shooting, teleportation, levitation and shape-shifting. The whole Parr family and friends could be on a different era as well. Jack-jack's older siblings could be way past High School by 2016.

In the previous movie, it ended with a tease during Dash's track race and the family feeling at ease at their recent heroic victory. Then suddenly, a villain called The Underminer emerges from the ground to declare war. After which, the complete family turns into superhero mode which includes Jack-Jack.

No other information regarding the date of the movie's preview, set of voice cast, and actual release date has been announced via Disney Pixar. Although, Walt Disney International president, Robert "Bob" Iger did confirm production last year together with news about 'Cars' and hints about 'Star Wars 7: The Force Awakens' (December 18). This year, aside from Star Wars, the movies that is on the Disney line-up include 'The Avengers: Age of Ultron', 'Tomorrowland', 'Ant-Man' and an unnamed Steven Spielberg spy movie.

As for Disney Pixar animation, they have slated the following movies for this year which includes 'Inside Out' (June 19) and 'The Good Dinosaur' (November 25).
