'The Good Wife' Recap, Spoilers: Say Goodbye to Saint Alicia in 'The Trial' Episode, Cary's Guilty Plea

Fans know that Alicia has always been 'The Good Wife', but this week's episode changed her saintly image into someone who is willing "gut you with a knife."

Evidently, Cary is under pressure with his trial and Alicia is struggling with rumors of her so-called violence against teachers in Sunday's episode of 'The Good Wife'.

"The Trial" episode presented the desperation in the law firm as Cary Agos went to trial to clear up his name. If things weren't bad enough, Judge Cuesta was already in a bad mood before the trial began because his concert tickets fell through.

At the start, Geneva offered Cary's party a plea deal of 10 years which Diane, Cary's lawyer, refused. The judge ignored her and asked Geneva to make a better deal and get it over with. Geneva offered six years if Cary pleaded guilty.

Cary, knowing that he's innocent and that the wiretap of his conversation with Lemond Bishop's crew was edited, still refused the deal. Besides, if he does plead guilty, not only would he go to jail again and be considered a felon, he would also lose his license to practice law. It's pretty clear at this point that he's taking his chances to avoid those.

Despite his frustration, Judge Cuesta allowed the trial to proceed. Cary was in the losing end and his only chance to get out of the crisis was finding one of Bishop's crew to refute the eligibility of the wiretapped conversation.

Cary and Diane did stumble into a favorable situation when they found out that Geneva was fooling around with the narcotics detective that she placed on stand to discuss the Cary wiretap.

Everything was going smoothly until Kalinda made a wrong move. Kalinda successfully tracked down Dante, one of Bishop's crew who was still alive. However, she made her mistake when she proceeded to threaten Bishop with the photos that showed drug dealers leaving his house.

When Dante appeared on the trial the next day, Bishop was also present. Upon noticing Bishop's presence, Dante suddenly changed his story, supporting the accusations against Cary. He claimed that the tape was never edited. At this point, it seemed that it was all over for Cary.

Meanwhile, Alicia unintentionally placed herself in an unpleasant situation after she jokingly gave a note to her daughter Grace. When Alicia learned that Grace's gym teacher made her daughter run in class despite being sick, she wrote an excuse note stating that she will gut the teacher with a knife if the teacher won't let Grace out of the class. The joke threat was supposedly based from the novel, 'Darkness at Noon'.

Eli and Johnny tried their best to settle the issue. The news about the note, however, spread like wildfire and before Alicia could put an end to it, the reporters were already featuring the story to the public, asking if the lawyer was intending to murder a teacher.

Despite all the crisis Alicia was facing, she still had a sweet moment to remember, which was her date with Finn Polmar. They both had a romantic meal and laughed. Then, Finn discreetly slid the photos of the drug dealers in Bishop's place to help Cary's case.

The photos wouldn't be of use though since in the final moments of the episode, Cary has already pleaded guilty after his meeting with Bishop.

'The Good Wife' is already in its sixth season and is aired on CBS every Sunday night at 9 pm.
