'The Flash' Season 1 Finale Recap: Eddie Takes His Own Life as Barry Lets Go of the Past
The penultimate episode of The Flash was quite a thriller. However, it has nothing on the show's first season finale, which was a great end to the stellar first season of the show. Barry's mission in life up to this point was avenging the death of his mother.
Now that he has found the culprit, Dr. Wells, also known as Eobard Thawne, he holds him captive.
While in captivity, Wells tells Barry exactly why he killed, his mother, hoping to destroy him all together, but the complete opposite happens.
Barry becomes The Flash, now that he is thirsty for justice, and he has received a superhuman gift by way of Wells' particle accelerator.
Wells attempts to bargain with Barry, offering him a way to save his mother if Barry sends him back to the future.
Joe encourages Barry to take the bargain and go back to the past, while Henry Allen does not think it is a good idea for him to risk everything.
Barry finally decides that he should not change the past. Eddie Thawne kills himself, thus ending the life of the villainous Eobard and becoming the "sacrificial lamb" of the first season.
The first season of The Flash finally came to an end, striking a balance between the storyline, and character development, making it quite an intriguing series.
There is no doubt that fans will be back for more at the start of season two.
The Flash is about Barry's journey, especially season one. Now that we have seen him become The Flash, viewers are eager to follow him on his next steps towards becoming a superhero.
