'The Flash' Season 3 Release Date, Spoilers: Candice Patton Says Barry And Iris' Relationship Is 'Destined'
"The Flash" season 3 is still a long way off, but fans are already busy making speculations about the series.
The final episode of season 2 ended with a cliffhanger when Barry Allen saved his mother from the Reverse Flash. That scene reminded viewers of the animated flick titled "Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox," where Flash lost his powers in a completely changed world.
One angle that fans expect season 3 to address is the romance between Barry and Iris West. While it is apparent that both characters will eventually become a legit item next season, some are worried that the events that took place in season 2 may either change or delay their on-and-off romance.
In a recent interview, actress Candice Patton shared her thoughts on what could be the future of the Iris-Barry love affair.
"Fans are anxiously waiting to figure out if West/Allen has been erased. I think fans can rest assured, we've established on this show, Barry and Iris have a relationship that's destined. They'll find each other on different timelines and multiverses," she said.
Meanwhile, actor Grant Gustin also recently shared what viewers can expect from the next installment as far as Flash's next opponent is concerned.
"I've heard whispers that we might have a Big Bad that isn't a metahuman! Which is kinda cool," he revealed.
In seasons 1 and 2, The Flash dealt with two metahumans--Reverse Flash and Zoom. In the event that the superhero will be pitted against another metahuman in season 3, fans speculate that it would be Captain Cold. Many believe that the final scene of the season 2 finale where Flash traveled back in time to save his mother from Reverse Flash could have paved the way for this possibility.
"The Flash" season 3 is expected to premiere this fall.
