‘The Flash’ Season 2 Spoilers, Release Date: New Villain Barry Allen's New Love Interest Appear? [VIDEO]
When 'The Flash' returns to The CW for its Season 2 in October this year, fans will see the various new characters in the television series based on the DC Comics character Barry Allen/ Flash and all these characters will have vital roles in the story.
According to Christian Today, in an interview with TV Line, series star Grant Gustin said that the show would be expanding its cast considerably in the upcoming season.
The young actor said, "There are a lot of new characters coming in, not just the ones that have been leaked online. And they all will challenge relationships, in good and bad ways."
Meanwhile, the death of Eddie Thawne in 'The Flash' Season 1 finale means that actor Rick Cosnett will no longer be a part of the main cast in the new season. However, Gustin said that most major characters will be returning to reprise their respective roles. According to the 25-year-old actor, even Tom Cavanagh, who portrays the character of fake Harrison Wells/ Eobard Thawne, will be returning to 'The Flash' Season 2.
In the sophomore year of the show, Barry Allen will have a new love interest named Wendy, who has been described as a "spunky, fun, and funny" science whiz. Cinema Blend reports that, in fact, Wendy may possibly be Patty Pivot, one of the latest romantic partners of the protagonist in the comics.
Meanwhile, fans well also see a new mystery hero called "John Clark" in 'The Flash' Season 2. This character has been described as "slightly cynical with an edge," and "John Clark" is being depicted as someone having extraordinary power, which will be difficult to control.
In addition, fans can also expect a new villain who is likely to succeed Eobard Thawne as the show's "big bad." Gustin told Latin Post that the villain would debut early in the season. The actor described the antagonist as "a really cool 'big bad' one that's going to be revealed kind of immediately."
Fans saw 'The Flash' Season 1 ending with a cliffhanger, as Barry speeds up to a black hole that threatened to eat into Central City. However, Screen Crush reported that actually 'The Flash' may not be the one who will be saving the world.
'The Flash' Season 2 will premiere in its normal time slot on The CW on Oct. 6.
