'The Flash' Season 2 Spoilers: Jay Garrick Joins the Show
Geoff Johns, the chief creative officer of DC Comics has recently revealed the name of the new character who will be joining the second season of The Flash.
During the panel for the show at PaleyFest in March, Greg Berlanti, the show's executive producer revealed that there was an interest in introducing new speedsters to the show for the new season.
"That's our hope," said Berlanti. "We've already been picked up for a second year. If we're going to do something like that, we'd do it next year."
While the number of speedsters that the show creators are planning to bring to the series next season is not yet clear, Johns confirmed that Jay Garrick would be one of them during the DC Entertainment "From Page to Screen" panel at San Diego Comic Con, according to a report by Den of Geek.
In the comics, Garrick is the first superhero to take on the identity of the Flash. His career is what inspired Barry Allen, his successor to become the second Flash, and the pair teamed up on several occasions, along with Wally West and other members of the Flash family.
The news about Garrick coming to the second season of The Flash is not that surprising, due to the fact that the drama teased his eventual appearance on the show when his winged helmet showed up in the finale of season one.
Besides Jay Garrick, "there are a lot of new characters coming in," said Johns to TV Line. "And they all will challenge relationships in good and bad ways."
Season two of The Flash will premiere on Tuesday October 6th at 8:00 pm on The CW.
