'The Flash' Season 2 Cast News: Heroine Jesse Quick to be Played By Newcomer Violett Beane

A new Speedster will join The Flash in season 2, in the form of DC Comics accelerator Jesse Quick. DC Wiki states that Jesse Quick is "the alter-ego of Jesse Chambers, a heroine with super-speed powers.

Chambers is the daughter of Golden Age heroes Johnny Quick and Liberty Belle; she would later go on to adopt her mother's name.

Her speed powers are accessed by speaking a special formula, although she also has her mother's abilities."

According to TV Line, a newcomer is slated to play Jesse Quick. Violett Beane, who has just burst onto the TV and movie scene, will feature in a few episodes of CW's smash hit.

She has just completed shooting opposite Michael Ian Black in Slash, an indie comedy.

Beane's version of Quick is a brilliant but offbeat college student who becomes entangled in the fight between The Flash and Zoom, the central villain of season 2. Howver, Zoom has yet to be cast.

Other characters slated to join Central City on both sides of the fence are villain Tokamak (Denmore Barnes) and Linda Park (Malese Jow) who complicated Barry Allen's (Grant Gustin) love life in season 1.

Gabrielle Stanton, executive producer of the TV series said to Entertainment Weekly:

"Linda Park will return as Iris West's [Candice Patton] friend and colleague at Central Picture News and her past relationship with Barry will put both Iris and The Flash in unexpected danger."

The Flash will re-air on The CW on Tuesday, 6th October/7c.
