The second season of CW's 'The Flash' will see the incoming of a whole bunch of new characters, however a certain returning character may pose the biggest threat to the series' love triangle.

It has recently been confirmed that actress Malese Jow will return to reprise her role as Linda Park, Barry Allen's short-lived love interest from last season.

When the romance between Iris and Barry didn't seem to be budding, he took a momentary interest in Linda, however due to his strong feelings for his childhood crush, Barry opted to split things between him and Linda.

"Linda Park will return as Iris West's [Candice Patton] friend and colleague at Central Picture News and her past relationship with Barry will put both Iris and The Flash in unexpected danger," executive producer Gabrielle Stanton teased.

What makes things even more interesting is that the next season plans on enlisting actress Shantal VanSanten as Patty Spivot, a comic book character that has historically held a relationship with The Flash.

"Meanwhile, VanSanten (One Tree Hill, The Messengers) will play Patty Spivot, a more recent addition to The Flash's comic book history. Patty is a police officer and science enthusiast who catches the eye of Barry Allen. Patty is obsessed with metahumans and partners with Det. Joe West (Jesse L. Martin) this season, but has no idea that her new crush is The Flash," writes EW.

Fans will just have to tune in to see how this all plays out with Barry Allen when 'The Flash' returns on October 6.
