'The Flash' Cast News: Robbie Amell Talks Firestorm’s Powers, Teases ‘Ridiculous’ Superhero Look

Robbie Amell, who plays Ronnie Raymond a.k.a. Firestorm on CW's 'The Flash', recently spoke about his superhero's special powers.

In 'The Flash', Ronnie was introduced as the fiancé of Dr. Caitlin Snow, played by Danielle Panabaker, who reportedly perished following the explosion of S.T.A.R. Labs. That was the same explosion that helped Barry Allen become The Flash and normal citizens of Central City turn into metahumans.

However, it turned out that Ronnie was not actually dead, but turned into a metahuman himself as the fire-toting Firestorm.

Amell said that while Ronnie would be introduced in October, Firestorm is coming to cause havoc once episodes roll out in December.

"When they find him in December, my character is really going through some stuff," he said to Hollywood Reporter. He explained that Ronnie is a confused schizophrenic and is a danger to people around him, but that fans will know its him "when the fire bursts in the hands and the fire bursts in the head."

He also said that Firestorm will definitely be a difficult enemy for anyone, even for The Flash.

Amell also mentioned his character's physical appearance during an interview in California with Access Hollywood.

The actor said he looked "ridiculous" during his appearance and disliked the use of wigs and a faux-beard.

"It was horrible! I hate wigs," Amell said, "I thought it was the worst day of my life." He then added, "Even worse that that is the fake facial hair."

During the interview, Amell also mentioned Victor Garber, who will play Dr. Martin Stein and the other part of Firestorm. The two ended up fused together after the explosion.

Amell said the experience was "terrifying" as he had to star opposite the "amazing incredible" actor.

'The Flash' is set to air the first part of its two-episode-crossover with other CW series 'Arrow'. The episode titled 'Flash vs. Arrow', will air on Tuesday, while the second part 'The Brave and the Bold' will follow the day after. Both episodes can be watched at 8 pm on The CW.
