'The Final Girls' Trailer News: New 'The Final Girls' Trailer Sees Nina Dobrev Fight For Life
The Final Girls, the new indie horror-comedy movie starring Nina Dobrev, age 26, and Taissa Farmiga, age 21, will be released right around Halloween to get fans in the appropriate mood.
The newly released trailer promises a campy twist on the slasher genre and stellar performances all around.
In the trailer, we see Max (Farmiga) and her horror-buff friends attending the anniversary screening of Camp Bloodbath, the 80s slasher double-feature that starred her late mother.
Suddenly, the theater catches fire and Max and her friends find themselves stuck in the movie.
Initially Max is excited to be in the movie with her scream queen mom, but she is crushed when it turns out that her mom doesn't recognize her.
Strange things start happening around the girls, like the evil villain who kills girls after he's had his way with them.
They experience dizzying black-and-white flashback too.
The girls realize they are stuck in the film and that in these types of films, only the final girl is left alive after finally succeeding to kill the nemesis.
An epic battle - of wits as well as strength - ensues to see who is left standing.
Dobrev shines with the best line of the movie:
"I want chainsaws and big a** knives and I want them now!"
Viewers of the trailer are left with many tantalizing questions. Will the girls escape the movie intact? Will Max saver her mother? Will they be reunited?
The Final Girls is directed by Todd Strauss-Schulson and written by M.A. Fortin and Joshua John Miller.
Co-starring Adam DeVine, Malin Akerman, Alexander Ludwig and Thomas Middleditch, The Final Girls has already garnered award attention and successful screenings at film festivals.
It will hit cinema screens on a limited release and video-on-demand on 9th October.
