'The Elder Scrolls 6' News: Game Is Not Arriving In Near Future?
Bad news for those anticipating the release date of "The Elder Scrolls 6"-they will have to wait a long while longer.
This comes straight from the horse's mouth, so to speak, as Pete Hines, the VP of Marketing at Bethesda, said that there's no timetable for the new game.
He tweeted on Aug. 9, "thx. fyi, the elder scrolls vi isn't in development. we simply said we would make it eventually. don't want people to be misled."
Previously, in an interview with Finder, as shared by TechnoBuffalo, Hines said that there are talks about the remaster version of the "Oblivion" or "Morrowind." But the amount of work involved is similar to working on a new game entirely, such as "The Elder Scrolls 6" for instance.
"So the question becomes, 'should we work on a Morrowind or Oblivion remaster, or should we work on Elder Scrolls VI?'" he said. "Because that's the volume of work we're talking about."
When "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim" came out five years ago, people were already demanding a sequel. But Bethesda is busy with other games like the "Fallout 4." But after that was released, the calls for "The Elder Scrolls 6" were revived.
Hines' statement is significant in the sense that Bethesda is committed on "The Elder Scrolls 6" rather than putting out HD gimmicks using their other popular titles. The bad news, however, is the fact that the game is not even in the development stage. That means probably another 2-4 years before fans can get their hands on the follow-up to "Skyrim."
