'The Defenders' Release Date, Cast: Matt Murdock And Jessica Jones Look Cordial In Latest Snap

Photos from the set of "The Defenders" have recently made the rounds online, and the latest snap offers a glimpse of Matt Murdock a.k.a. "Daredevil" filming a scene with Jones.

Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones and the Iron Fist are set to join forces in Netflix's miniseries.

While it is still too early to figure out the context of the latest photos, the two characters seem to be very genial with each other as they share warm smiles outside a bar. There are speculations that the two might be out on a mission together.

The eight-part Marvel miniseries will feature among its returning cast Elodie Yung, Jessica Henwick, Scott Glenn, Rosario Dawson, Rachael Taylor, Simone MIssick, Deborah Ann Woll, Carrie Anne Moss, Elden Henson and Eka Darville.

Recent reports confirm that French actress Elodie Yung will join the cast as the fan-favorite Elektra, who is the love interest of Daredevil. Given that, fans should expect some fiery romance to blossom between the two characters.

Sigourney Weaver also confirmed that she had signed on as the main villain in the series, but details about her character are still under wraps.

"The Defenders" will be helmed by "Daredevil" showrunners Marco Ramirez and Dough Petrie, and will be helmed in part by "Jessica Jones" director S.J. Clarkson.

Meanwhile, "Iron Fist," the last link before the heroes band together for "The Defenders," is set to air in March 2017. Netflix has yet to announce the exact release date for "The Defenders," but the series might begin streaming in late 2017.
