'The Conjuring 2' Release Date Delay: Film Scheduled for Premiere In 2016

New reports claim that the upcoming horror movie 'The Conjuring 2' has been given a new release date by producer, New Line Cinema. Originally, the film was scheduled for an October 23, 2015 release, but has since been moved to sometime in 2016.

Entertainment Weekly also reports that on October 23, a different horror film will take the place of 'The Conjuring 2', but the name of it has not yet been disclosed.

The first movie, 'The Conjuring', which was a hit in 2013, told the story of real-life paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren. The sequel will supposedly send the Warren to England.

IMDB lists the film as 'The Conjuring: the Enfield Poltergeist', which may refer to a 1977 film about a single mother whose children were being haunted.

Stepping back, 'The Conjuring' made $300 million off a budget of $20 million. The recent spinoff, 'Annabelle', has done similarly well since its opened on October 3, 2014. It was made for $7 million and has so far grossed $75 million.

Moving forward, James Wan, who had directed the first movie, will direct 'The Conjuring 2', and he is also one of the producers. Lastly, reports claim that Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson will reprise their roles as the Warrens.
