MTV's "The Challenge: Battle of the Bloodlines" gets more emotional and intense with family members stepping in as Season 27 kicks off.

CT Tamburello, who left the show when his partner and ex-girlfriend Diem Brown fell ill, is very much back this season. Forming a power team with CT is Megan Brown, Diem's sister and bestfriend.

Ovarian Cancer took Diem's life Nov. 14, 2014. Megan who was on her sister's bedside while the latter was sick wants to honor Diem and continue her legacy. According to Megan, Diem was always the life of the party and always lives life to the fullest, reports TV.com.

Fans are looking forward to CT and Megan's new team, which is expected to be fierce and dominating. Megan describes herself as someone timider Diem but her speeches and videos after Diem's death show otherwise.

Meanwhile, the other teams are expected to be just as dramatic and competitive. While previous seasons have paired players with their Television frenemies and exes, this season will team up stars with their family members. There will be brothers, sisters, cousins, and even twins! 

Emotions will intensify as players get protective over their family members, reports International Business Times. 

"If you want to piss me off, mess with my sister," says contestant Camila as she talks about Laroissa on their "Bloodlines" bio.

According to Afterbuzz TV, contestants were told to pick five relatives which will be interviewed for the show.
