'The Challenge: Bloodlines' Episode 9 Spoilers: Cara Maria Faces “Blood Versus Love?”
MTV "The Challenge: Bloodlines" episode 9 brings us in underwater challenges and familial drama. Cara Maria faces an especially difficult situation.
"Blood Versus Love" opens in the club, where the contestants were chilling and revealed their impressions of one another.
Jenna nicknames Vince "Creepy Uncle Vince" and wished him and Johnny Bananas thrown out of the game.
Meanwhile, Johnny aired out Abram's plan to jump into the pit if Johnny's team loses. The action ensures an elimination battle between Johnny and Abram -- which Johnny isn't really excited about it.
The Challenge
This week, the Red and Blue teams have to take a deep dive underwater and hold their head in a small box filled with air until a teammate saves them, reports Entertainment Weekly.
The house is dared to swim 150 feet to the finish line using underwater air pockets. Many struggled to reach the first tank of air in order to compete.
The red team emerged ahead of the pack.
Four swimmers are disqualified for not making it to the first air pocket -- leaving Johnny and Abram in the game.
"Fancy seeing you here," jokes Johnny after the two reunite underwater.
While Abram initially plotted to throw the challenge, he and Johnny successfully fulfilled the mission.
Three players from the Blue team reached the first checkpoint, but several others go thrown-out during the mid-challenge.
Johnny's bloodline, Vince, quit and felt bad about giving up. Jamie and Mike are the only two successful members of the Blue Team.
As the Reds snatched victory, Host TJ Lavin asked them to pick one guy from the blue team to send to the pit. TJ also told the blue team to send one male from their ranks for elimination.
Finally, the host announced that the next challenge will not be between Red and Blue teams. The contestants will be back to competing alongside their bloodlines.
Deliberation
Jenna was quick to vote for Vince who refused to volunteer himself. Vince reminds Mike that the latter had spoken about wanting to compete. Mike confessed that he really wants to go up against Vince.
Johnny persuaded Jenna and Brianna to send Jamie into the pit -- reasoning that Jamie and her bloodline Cara Maria were more of a threat than Vince.
During the official vote, Mike volunteered to go to the pit.
First to vote from the Red team, Johnny picks Jamie and successfully made Brianna do the same. The rest of the team follows suit.
Before giving his vote, Abram lashes out Vince and Mitch who failed in challenges, yet refused to volunteer into the pit.
Elimination
Cara Maria faces a tough pit situation since either she and her bloodline, or her boyfriend Abram will go home. Abram says he loves Cara Maria but he still wants Mike to be at his best.
After putting Jamie and Mike into the pit, TJ calls out surprise guests. The two contestants will not battle. Instead, veterans Chris "CT" Tamburello and Zach Nichols will be challenging the contestants.
"I knew there was going to be some awful plot twist at some point in this game," Johnny remarks. "I had a feeling it was going to involve a pit, and lo and behold, two mutants walk out."
In the game with three rounds, men will stand on opposite ends of the pole. The player to pull the pole out first wins the round, reports International Business Times.
TJ tossed a coin and determined that Mike will be facing Zach and Jamie will confront CT. Jenna, who is dating Zach, is overjoyed by his appearance. The two smooched before the men compete in "Hand It Over."
"I'm just here to basically cause havoc. That's why I'm here," said CT.
Mike and Jamie both failed to get all three poles from CT and Zach. But Jamie held longer against Zach so he wins. That means Abram and Mike are on their way home.
Abram bids farewell saying he was happy to experience the show and scare a few guys away from his girlfriend. Now, more than ever, Cara Mara is geared on winning since Abram is not there any more.
"The Challenge: Battle of the Bloodlines" airs on MTV every Wednesday at 10 p.m. EST.
