'The Blacklist' Season 4 News & Update: Liz Prioritizes Escape Plans Over Search For Truth?
Fans of "The Blacklist" know for sure that Elizabeth Keen is not the type who needs anyone-not even Red-to be her savior. Considering the situation involving Alexander Kirk in the season 3 finale, viewers have yet to find out how Liz will react when Red comes to her rescue in season 4.
For the last three seasons, Liz has been trying to discover the truth about her twisted past. However, she has only managed to pick up the bits and bobs that have pervaded Red's distorted sense of reality. Now that Alexander Kirk has entered the picture, her quest for truth might have to be placed in the back burner as she has to prioritize her escape plans.
In the previous season, Liz tried to get away from Red by faking her death. The team placed blame on Alexander Kirk, who then kidnapped Liz and told her that he was her father. The season finale left a big puzzle, because while lining up the evidence from Red would tell that Kirk is not Liz's father, there is always a reason to doubt the master criminal.
In his May interview with Entertainment Weekly, "The Blacklist" creator Jon Bokenkamp teased that Kirk's relationship with Liz will allow viewers to understand more deeply the relationship between Red and Liz.
"What I do promise is that Alexander Kirk and his relationship to Liz will ultimately give us a far deeper understanding of Red's relationship to Liz in season 4," he said.
"The Blacklist" season 4 premieres on Sept. 22, 10:00 p.m. on NBC.
