'The Blacklist' Season 3 Spoilers: Liz and Red Turn Fugitives After She Shoots Tom Connolly
When 'The Blacklist' returns for its third season this fall, fans will see Elizabeth Keene (Megan Boone) and Raymond 'Red' Reddington (James Spader) on the run.
Christian Today reports that towards the end of the sophomore season of the NBC crime drama, fans saw the FBI profiler as well as confidential informant fleeing after Liz shot Tom Connolly (Reed Briney). This incident made Liz recall some of her suppressed memories from childhood days, as she remembers shooting her father when she was young. The decision of Liz and Red to escape actually turns them into fugitives, which viewers will see early on in 'The Blacklist' Season 3.
According to the report, in an earlier interview with The Hollywood Reporter, 'The Blacklist' executive producer Jon Bokenkamp gave hints about what viewers can expect in the upcoming next season.
Bokenkamp told the publication, "The image of Liz's wanted poster going up next to Reddington's wanted poster is something we've talked about for a long time and one of those signpost moments in the series that we knew we wanted to hit."
He further stated that Liz will turn out to be more like Red following the revelation of her past, suggesting that she will be a little more exhausted.
The series executive further revealed that a main focus of 'The Blacklist' Season 3 will be the change in dynamics between Liz and Ressler (Diego Klattenhoff), as the latter will be responsible for hunting down the FBI agent-turned-fugitive.
On the other hand, Red's bodyguard Dembe Zuma will always be by his side throughout the upcoming season. SpoilerTV reports that actor Hisham Tawfiq has been promoted to a series regular in Season 3.
'The Blacklist' Season 3 will premiere on Sept. 24 on NBC.
