'The Blacklist' Season 2 Episode 17 showed Red (James Spader) toying with the secret becoming immortal. It also showed him opening up the suppressed memories of Liz (Megan Boone) from the night of the fire. In the upcoming episode titled 'Vanessa Cruz,' fans will see Red becoming all the more desperate and force Liz to disclose the precise location of the Fulcrum. However, someone is likely to interfere.

According to IB Times, Vanessa Cruz (Ana de la Reguera) will be the next target on Red's blacklist. However, Cruz herself is a frame-up artist whose prey include wealthy, high-class targets. Liz as well as the other members of the FBI team will be hunting for the thief, but - as in Episode 17 of the show - the actual focus of the episode will be on Tom Keen (Ryan Eggold).

The official synopsis of 'The Blacklist' Season 2 Episode 18 says that Tom seeks Liz's help to escape from Washington D.C. alive. In fact, at the end of Episode 17, viewers saw Liz coming home to find the spy waiting there.

The promo for 'Vanessa Cruz' reveals that Tom may possibly want more from Liz - not just help to get out of Washington D.C. In the teaser, fans can see the covert operative apparently making an apology for everything he did wrong and even asking her to start afresh. It seems that even Liz is ready to accept his apology, maintaining that Tom might not have faked all the feeling between them in their marriage. In one scene, fans also see the couple kissing!

Now, the question is whether Tom is playing with Liz's emotions. According to Red, he is. In fact, Red turns up at Liz's house pointing a gun at Tom and appearing very unhappy. The synopsis of the upcoming episode also reveals that it has become urgent for Red to know the location of the Fulcrum and, hence, he may not have much patience for the happy couple.

Fans will have to wait a while to find out if Liz and Tom will mend their relationship and also if Liz trust him again.

'The Blacklist' Season 2 Episode 18 titled 'Vanessa Cruz' airs Thursdays, April 2, at 9:00 pm EDT on NBC.
