'The Bachelor' 2017: Nic Viall Chosen To Star In 'The Bachelor' Season 21
Nick Viall will be the star of "The Bachelor" season 21, as announced by ABC on Aug. 30 on "After Paradise."
Viall has been dating Jen Saviano in "Bachelor in Paradise" season 3, and often butted heads with Josh Murray of "Bachelorette" season 10 over Amanda Stanton.
During his interview with "After Paradise," Viall said he was "definitely ready" to take on the big role in the upcoming show. "I've certainly had the practice," he quipped.
"The Bachelorette 2016" stars Ben Higgins and Lauren Bushnell also appeared via Skype on the show, where Higgins offered his piece of advice to Viall.
"Buckle up--your life is about to change big-time, but all for the better," he said.
Higgins lost Andi Dorfman's final rose to Murray in the "Bachelorette" season 10 and came in second to Shawn Booth in the following season.
Meanwhile, everyone had thought that Luke Pell would get picked as the new star of the new season of "The Bachelor," so having Nick Viall instead of him came as a shocking twist for many.
After the show, Luke Pell shared on Twitter his thoughts about not being picked.
"Thx for all the love sometimes we are faced w/ unexpected changes. I'm happy to be back in Nash excited for the future," reads his tweet.
He also posted a photo with the caption, "Trust God's timing, He has a plan for everything."
"Bachelor in Paradise" airs Mondays and Tuesdays, 8:00 p.m. on ABC. "The Bachelor" is expected to premiere in early 2017.
