'The Assassin's Creed' Movie Cast News: Michael K. Williams Cast in 'Assassin’s Creed' Movie
Michael K. Williams, the former star of 'The Wire', recently snagged a role in 'Ghostbusters'. Now, there is also word that he will be having a major role in the upcoming 'Assassin's Creed' movie.
The 'Assassin's Creed' movie, will star Michael Fassbender as Desmond Miles, who will be the protagonist of the current 'Assassin's Creed' series.
Just like in the games, Desmond will be captured by the Templars and sent back in time in to the body of an assassin ancestor.
The movie will also star Marion Cotillard and Ariane Labed. It is as yet unknown which historical time period the movie will be set in, but a lot of fans are hoping that we'll be seeing some pirates.
There have not been any details released about the character that Williams will be playing, besides the fact that it will be a significant role, and that it can become a recurring one if the 'Assassin's Creed' movie is successful enough in the box office to become a series.
Since 'Assassin's Creed' is always changing the time periods that it is set in, it does seem likely that Williams will be one of Desmond's allies in the present time, as the role may be recurring. There is also a chance that he might be playing another Assassin.
Many critics are unsure about how successful 'Assassin's Creed' will be, based on the fact that video game to movie projects in the past do not often turn out to be box office hits.
However, 'Assassin's Creed' is accumulating quite the impressive cast, so perhaps the acting prowess of its cast members will be the vehicle that will carry this film into a series and maybe beyond.
