'The Americans' Season 4 Renewal News: FX Series Tapped for 13 More Episodes
Many fans have recently become excited as the popular television series, "The Americans," is officially getting a full 13-episode, fourth season.
In a press release by FX, they announced the official return of the fan favorite series. Nick Grad, FX's co-president of original programming said in a statement, "Remarkably, this season of The Americans has achieved even greater acclaim than that of its first two seasons. The series has cemented its status with critics as television's best current drama and arguably the best show on TV, and we couldn't agree more."
Despite being snuffed out of well-deserved major awards, "The Americans" is considered one of the greatest shows on TV with a number one rank and 92 percent approval rating on Metacritic, according to Collider.
Grad added, "That universal critical praise is a tribute to the talents of Joe, Joel, Keri, Matthew, Noah and the entire cast and crew. We look forward to the final four episodes of season three, and beyond, in Philip and Elizabeth Jennings' riveting journey."
"The Americans" is a Cold War drama that follows two Soviet intelligence agents who pose as a married couple to spy on the American government.
It stars Keri Russell as Elizabeth Jennings, Matthew Rhys as Philip Jennings, Holly Taylor as Paige Jennings, Keidrich Sellati as Henry Jennings, Noah Emmerich as Stan Beeman, Annet Mahendru as Nina Krilova, Richard Thomas as Frank Gaad, Susan Misner as Sandra Beeman, Alison Wright as Martha Hanson and Lev Gorn as Arkady Zotov.
The show is currently on its third season. With only four more episodes left, fans are eager to see what happens to their favorite Russian spies.
"The Americans" airs Wednesdays at 10/9c on FX.
