'The Americans' Season 3 Spoilers, News: Jennings Face Tough Decisions, Stan's Marriage Issues

As FX Network's 'The Americans' is set to air its third season in 2015, actors Matthew Rhys, who plays Philip, and Keri Russell, who plays Elizabeth, will reportedly take over the season.

The spy drama is set during the Cold War, surrounding the story of a pair of soviet spies portraying an American married couple living in the suburbs of Washington, D.C.

Their children and FBI neighbor have no idea who they really are. On a side note, Joe Weisberg, a former CIA officer, created and produced the series. He wanted to focus on the lives of the Jennings by incorporating real-life events, but ultimately, the series is about the trials of marriage.

In the Season 2 finale, viewers caught a glimpse into a Centre program, or the "second generation illegals," in which children of spies are taught how to follow their parents into gathering top secret American intelligence. The couple disagreed over whether to turn their daughter, Elizabeth, over to the program.

For the Season 3 premiere, long-time fans of 'The Americans' will finally be privy to a few episode with hints from the synopsis. "Men will offer some tension between the Jennings couple. Presumably, the couple will be faced with the same, dark decision. Should they force their daughter to lead a life of danger and deceit, all in the name of their country?"

Also in the synopsis for the premiere, the Jennings will face another mess entirely separate from their "second generation illegals" dilemma. Philip and Annelise will need to embark on a risky mission to take care that the intelligence does not get into the wrong hands. In the meantime, Stan is trying to fix his failing marriage when he receives bad news about Nina.
