Following its first two explosive seasons, "The Affair" returns this month for its third season.

"The Affair" season 3 will pick up three years after Noah took the fall for the murder of Scotty Lockhart. It can be recalled that in the previous season, both Noah and Helen were entangled in an incident that had led to the death of Scotty Lockhart. The truth behind his murder was that it was Helen who hit him, and it was Alison who pushed him to death. However, Noah ended up confessing that he was the one who murdered Scotty.

A new trailer for "The Affair" season 3 offers glimpses of the characters three years after the season 2 finale. The trailer reveals that in season 3, Noah will be a totally different man. After getting out of prison, he appears to be less confident than before. And while his is already out, lots of troubles are still coming his way.

The trailer shows a security guard giving Noah some major stress. While details of this moment are not revealed, Noah seems to be very perplexed by this guard who knows his whereabouts now that he is already free. The trailer also hints that the Lockhart drama is not totally over yet.

In the trailer, Helen and Alison appear to be very guilt-ridden.  

Reports about season 3 also claim that Noah will find a new love interest in a woman named Irene Jacob, who will help him overcome his trauma and move forward with his life.
