'The Affair' Season 3 Premiere Date, News: Next Season Still Happening; Set To Come a Bit Later Than Expected
"The Affair" season 3 will still happen, but it will come a bit later than expected.
On April 10, Sarah Treem answered via Twitter a fan's question regarding the premiere date of the third season. The showrunner revealed that the show was initially scheduled to premiere this coming fall, but she just had a baby so Showtime agreed to push the premiere back a bit.
"In all seriousness we normally premiere in early fall but I just had a baby so Showtime agreed to push us a bit," she responded.
Despite the viewers having to be extra patient for the premiere of the next season, Treem mentioned on Twitter how glad she is that Showtime is very open to working around her maternity schedule.
Since the announcement that the show will be renewed for another year, fans of the series have been speculating about the events that will happen in the upcoming season. One of the hottest speculations is that Scotty may appear in one of the episodes of season 3 despite being dead in the previous season.
Based on a report by Digital Spy, actor Colin Donnell who plays Scotty revealed in an interview that there is still no guarantee that he will show up again in a future episode.
"I haven't had any discussions, but they do certainly play with time a bit over there," said Donnell.
"As far as I know right now, Scotty is very much dead and I think the car crash was pretty good evidence of that," he added.
He noted, however, that it was a huge blessing that he became a part of the first two seasons of the drama series.
