‘Text Me Merry Christmas’ Music Video Premieres, Features Kristen Bell and Straight No Chaser

Kristen Bell and musical group Straight No Chasers' music video for their holiday hit song "Text Me Merry Christmas" has premiered and features animated versions of the singers.

The a cappella group initially released a lyric video for the yuletide song, which is about people in long distance relationships and how they communicate over the holidays, while living in the age of technology.

When the lyric video was released, the actress took to her Twitter account to share the news to her fans.

"Guys, a new christmas single has dropped. Me and @SNCmusic had to drop it cuz it was WAY too hot." Kristen tweeted.

And now, a video for the song has been released, which featured Kristen as a blonde doll, who takes selfies and sends them to her long distance boyfriend. It also shows the animated figure taking a selfie with Santa Claus.

Musical group Straight No Chaser also appeared in the video as suit-wearing carolers who danced in Christmas trees and swung on Christmas ornaments.

The video was a result of the combined efforts from Kristen, SNC, JASH, Atlantic Records, and composers Adam Schlesinger and David Javerbaum.

In an interview with Ryan Seacrest on his show, SNC's Randy Stine said they wanted a song which tells the story of how communication has become informal in the social age.

"As soon as we heard the first demo it was apparent that it had to be a duet ... the only voice we heard singing this was Kristen Bell and she nailed every note and delivered the lyrics with the perfect comedic tone. We were hanging on her every word ... when we weren't looking at our phones," Stine told Seacrest.

On that note, the song is from Straight No Chasers album Under the Influence: Holiday Edition and is available for purchase in iTunes.
