‘Terminator Genisys’ Release Date, Official Trailer & Animated Poster News: Production Launches New Teaser [VIDEO]
Veering from traditional and plain movie posters, 'Terminator: Genisys' unveiled its animated graphic poster on Tuesday, ahead of the trailer which make's its debut on Thursday, November 4.
'Genisys' will be the fifth installment of the 'Terminator' film series and fans are already anticipating what the trailer of the movie will be like.
The "living movie poster" features a haunting T-800 skull of a Terminator cyborg with yellow teeth and red glowing eyes.
It also depicts sudden granulation of the head from the cyborg's right jaw to the top of its head, while the right eye blinks and the metallic pieces crumble into sand at the bottom.
After a part of the skull crumbles below, what is left is the title of the movie, 'Terminator: Genisys' aligned to the side of the left eye.
The movie is set in the year 2029, and will have bits and pieces from the storyline of the first and second 'Terminator' films in the series. It will also reveal that Schwarzenegger's character was the one who raised, trained, and protected the young Sarah Connor and that she called him "Pops."
'Terminator: Genisys' is directed by Alan Taylor, who was the director of 'Thor: The Dark World'
Arnold Schwarzenegger will be reprising his role as the Terminator in the movie and will be starring alongside Jason Clarke (John Connor), Emilia Clarke (Sarah Connor) and Jai Courtney (Kyle Reese). J.K. Simmons, Dayo Okeniyi, Byung Hun Lee, and Matt Smith.
Beyond that, a "man-machine" hybrid will also be featured in the film and will serve as the main antagonist in the movie. Creators describe the hybrid as a "visual game changer."
The movie is scheduled to be released in cinemas on July 1, 2015 and it will be the first film in a planned trilogy.
