'Teen Mom' Farrah Abraham News: Lip Implant Surgery Goes Terribly Wrong

Farrah Abraham of MTV's 'Teen Mom' recently exposed the results of her lip surgery to the public, and the results are downright frightening.

Using the social media website, Twitter, Abraham revealed the lip procedure which resulted in some intense swelling of both of her lips. The photos, taken on January 6th, show the young mother lying in a hospital bed as she snapped a selfie of her new, enlarged upper lip.

The young woman believes that the lip inflammation was caused by an allergic reaction to the doctor's use of an anesthetic. However, twenty-three-year old Abraham seemed to be in good spirits after the surgery, and even joked around that she resembled popular animated cartoon, Leela, from the show 'Futurama'.

Experts suggest that the cause of inflammation could be an allergy, or her body's reaction to the trauma of the invasive surgery.

Abraham has a history of undergoing cosmetic surgery, so lip implants may have seemed less threatening. Yet, the pictures prove that even a less intensive procedure can go totally wrong.

The MTV pseudo-celebrity has undergone two surgeries for breast implants; a nose job; and chin implants. As of right now, Abraham has not expressed serious alarm nor said that she would be fixing her new lips.

For this specific surgery, Abraham underwent a lip procedure that used lip implants in place of lip fillers. Implants produce permanent results, but can be removed. On the other hand, fillers are temporary, and require various follow-up procedures for maintenance. Both implants and fillers seek to achieve a fuller, plumper lip.
