TCA Awards 2016 Winners: 'The People v. O.J. Simpson' Celebrates Sweeping Success
"The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story" brought home the bacon at the 32nd Annual TCA Awards Ceremony held on Saturday night.
The show took three prizes to lead the night, including Program of the Year, Outstanding Achievement in Movies, Miniseries and Specials, as well as Individual Achievement in Drama for Sarah Paulson, who played Marcia Clark.
Since the TCA Awards do not have separate nominations for each gender, Sarah Paulson was nominated for the award alongside her "People v. O.J." co-star Courtney B. Vance. She was also up against "All The Way" star Bryan Cranston, "Mr. Robot" star Rami Malek, "Better Caul Saul" star Bob Odenkirk and "The Americans star Keri Russell.
Meanwhile, "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" star Rachel Bloom won the award for Individual Achievement in Comedy, bettering Aziz Ansari of "Master of None," Samantha Bee of "Full Frontal with Samantha Bee," Aya Cash of "You're The Worst," Julia Louis-Dreyfus of "Veep" and Constance Wu of "Fresh Off The Boat."
Samantha Bee took the Outstanding Achievement in News and Information category for "Full Frontal," while "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" bagged the TCA's Heritage Award. Lily Tomlin was also honored with the Career Achievement Award for her legacy as an actress.
Results in the TCA Awards were determined from votes by TCA members, which include over 220 professional TV critics and journalists based in Canada and the United States.
