Taylor Swift: 'Shake it Off' Singer Was Shortlisted for 'Person of The Year' by Time Magazine

On Monday, Time Magazine made the announcement for the finalists of their 'Person of the Year' issue.

'Person of the Year' is an annual issue that Time Magazine releases at the end of each year. The issue features a profile of that person, group, or object that has done the most to influence the events that happened throughout the year. This person or object is chosen in a "for better or for worse" manner.

Taylor Swift joined the list of nominees along with Tim Cook who is the CEO of Apple, Roger Goodell who is the commissioner of the NFL, the Ebola doctors, Russian president Vladimir Putin, the Ferguson protestors, Jack Ma who is the founder of the Alibaba Group, and Masoud Barzani who is the president of the Iraqi Kurdistan region. This is quite a group to join ranks with.

Swift has been making millions and millions of dollars over the past few years with her albums and tours. She recently pulled her music off of Spotify for legal reasons. She also is one of the performers on the Victoria's Secret fashion show this year. She has made quite the name for herself going from country teen to now pop princess.

Many said that she will take over the world of pop. Some even go as far as to say she could be greater than Katy Perry and Beyonce one day.

The Time Magazine 'Person of the Year' will be announced on Wednesday on the 'Today' show. Many fans of Swift's will be watching in hopes that she can compete with the list other influential nominees.
