Taylor Swift News: 'Bad Blood' Singer Donates $50,000 to Help Fan Battling Leukemia
Taylor Swift, the twenty-five-year old pop star, is often recognized for her acts of kindness towards her fans and others in need.
Naomi Oakes is a dedicated fan of Swift, but the eleven year old will be missing Swift's upcoming concert in Phoenix because she is fighting leukemia and cannot leave the hospital.
However, Swift rose to the occasion, of course. When Oakes' family created a video about her sickness and her love for the star, they probably did not imagine what would happen.
They simply wanted to reach out to Swift to tell her that Oakes' fight song is "Bad Blood", hoping that Swift would show her support through social media.
However, Swift did way more than that. She donated $50,000 to the young girl's GoFundMe page two days after the video was posted on YouTube.
She also wrote her a message: "To the beautiful and brave Naomi, I'm sorry you have to miss it, but there will always be more concerts. Let's focus on getting you feeling better. I'm sending the biggest hugs to you and your family."
When Oakes checked her pages, she was at a loss for words.
The family taped her reaction to seeing the large donation and personal message from Swift, and in the video she says, "I can barely breathe," as she stares at the computer screen with a huge smile on her face. "I seriously think I'm going to pass out."
Fans send well wishes to Oakes, and cannot deny that swift may be one of the most selfless celebrities in Hollywood, as she continues to shock fans with her genuine support and generous gifts.
