It was indeed an emotional day yesterday for the "Shake It Off" singer Taylor Swift who had a sweet moment with a fan apparently grieving from a loss of her mother recently and Swift just encouraged her on Mother's day via her social media.

Losing a mother recently and with everyone celebrating a day honoring moms may just be too heart breaking for one person and Swift apparently had some time to sit down and converse with one of her fans grieving the loss of her mother.

Swift, currently in a challenging state of her life as her own mom is battling cancer gave a few encouraging words to a fan yesterday. A fan named Kaileen wrote a letter to Swift via Tumblr sharing her experience and how she felt during Mother's day.

"It's me, iced coffee girl, and I could really use a hug. Today is Mother's Day, a day most people spend with their mothers thanking them for everything they do," Kaileen wrote adding, "But, for me, I can't spend this day with my mom because she's in heaven."

Kaileen continued sharing how her mom was her best friend. "Last January, my mom passed away and a piece of my heart left with her. My mom was my best friend, the one I laughed with, the one I cried with, and the one I loved with my whole heart," she wrote.

While Swift answered quite concerned saying, "Kaileen- I love you so much and can't imagine what you must be feeling today. You've lived through my worst fear. I'm so sorry you can't spend today with her," Swift wrote adding, "It's not fair, and there's no reason why you should feel okay about it. No one should ever expect you to feel normal today."

Apparently Swift's music helped Kaileen throughout her hard experience of losing her mother as she wrote, "For a while, I felt empty. But as you've done many times before, you filled that hole. You took me out of my sad place and made me happy. And because of you, I got through something that was the hardest thing in the world for me," Kaileen continued.

Swift also encouraged Kaileen cheering her up saying, "I admire and respect your ability to put forth such a sunny, sweet disposition when you've been through something so dark and tragic so recently. I never would've guessed by your attitude or your posts. I never would've known if you hadn't told me. Sending you a huge hug today. Gonna go get iced coffee and cheers to you," Swift wrote.

Swift's mom named Andrea Swift has been reportedly battling cancer and the singer wishes that she would have her privacy when it comes to the condition of her mom. "She's got an important battle to fight," Swift previously said in a statement. "Thank you for caring about my family so much that she would want me to share this information with you."
