Taylor Swift New Album ‘1989’: 2014 Release Date Oct. 27 Will See Country to Pop Transition
Taylor Swift is currently making big changes in her music career, especially with her new and upcoming album, 1989. The Red hitmaker told Rolling Stone that her new set of tracks is a discovery of pop music as influenced by friends and co-artists.
Taylor added that Swedish producer Max Martin, who produced most of the 1989 tracks, and friend Jack Antonoff helped in co-writing and producing the songs.
"The moment when we shifted from friendship into working together was when we were talking about the snare drum on Fine Young Cannibals' She Drives Me Crazy," Antonoff told Rolling Stone detailing about how he and Taylor conceptualized the project.
Taylor said that delving into the pop genre is her way of experimenting with the music career, Us Magazine reported, "People realized songs didn't have to be this standard drums-guitar-bass-whatever. We can do so many different things," the 24-year-old songstress said.
She went on to mention, "And I think what you saw happening with music was also happening in our culture, where people were just wearing whatever crazy colors they wanted to, because why not?"
She continued, "There just seemed to be this energy about endless opportunities, endless possibilities, endless ways you could live your life. And so with this record, I thought, 'There are no rules to this. I can make whatever record I want.'"
Over the weekend, Taylor hosted a listening party for her fans at her house in Los Angeles, where she baked cookies, danced, and played previous albums while taking pictures with them and her cat, Olivia. Taylor is also known to provide support to her fans on social media on topics like bullying and matters of love.
Swift's new album titled 1989 will be released on October 27.
