Taylor Swift Dating News: 'Shake it Off' Singer Speaks Out Against Celebrity Relationship Shaming
Taylor Swift recently opened up about her feelings and the fact that her love life is constantly being scrutinized by the public.
In the June 2015 issue of Glamour U.K., Swift discussed the way that the media has affected her relationships with the false or fabricated stories that they publish about her. In fact, the star singer blames the press for some of her break ups, as the lies spawn misconceptions about her.
Swift stated in her interview that the media sends her a really unfair message. She says that the message appears to be that she is "not allowed to date for excitement, or fun, or new experiences or learning lessons."
She says that rather, she will only be approved of if she is in a long term relationship that lasts over several years. Swift has been called a "serial dater" and "boy crazy," by some media outlets and she criticizes the narratives that are published about her.
She says that if she is spotted talking to a guy, the media says that she is chasing him, and often although she has not had any romantic involvement with the person, a false break up story is created in order to end the story that has been fabricated. She says that because of this and other factors, it is a struggle for her to maintain a relationship.
She is currently rumored to be seeing Calvin Harris. She has said that she does not think it is fair that she is being shamed for her relationship choices which are personal and private, and specifically highlights jokes that have been made about her at awards shows.
