Taylor Swift News: '1989' Singer Donates $50,000 to 11-Year-Old Fan with Cancer
As the 'Shake it Off' singer Taylor Swift gears up for her next concert in Phoenix on August 18, an unexpected incident happened with one of her fans which are famously called "Swifties." Apparently, an 11-year-old girl who was planning to go Swift's concert was just diagnosed with a special kind of cancer that makes her unable to attend, but surprisingly, something even better happened with her, Swift just mailed her a $50,000 check to help her.
Indeed it was a mail sent from heaven, through Swift of course as 11-year-old Naomi Oakes reportedly needs to be in the utmost care and aggressive treatments for having been diagnosed with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia just last June 25.
So she and her family, in their attempt to let the pop star know about her current condition, they filmed a video of Oakes telling all about her story and of course her admiration for the female artist asking other fans of Swift to spread the word through social media as they posted the video on Youtube.
And true enough, the video became viral instantly even reaching Swift a few days later leading her to probably be so touched to have sent her financial support right away to the struggling young girl because of her sickness.
Swift even sent her a sweet message that even more melted the hearts of the Swifties most especially Oakes. "To the beautiful and brave Naomi, I'm sorry you have to miss it, but there will always be more concerts. Let's focus on getting you feeling better. I'm sending the biggest hugs to you and your family," Swift wrote on Oakes GoFundMe page as she donated the $50,000 amount.
After finding out that Swift donated the whopping amount, the family of Oakes again made a video showing the reaction of the young Oakes when she found out about it for the first time saying, "I can barely breath," she said while smiling even joking around saying, "I seriously think I'm going to pass out."
