T-Mobile HTC One M8 Android 5.0 Lollipop Update News: U.S Carrier Releases Latest Google OS

HTC One M8 users are excited as T-Mobile has started to release and roll out the Android 5.0 Lollipop update on their devices.

Once the cellphone giant missed the self-imposed Feb.1st deadline, users began receiving update notifications just a week later.

Flagship Android devices at various mobile carriers expected firmware updates, but they had not begun in earnest until this month.

Mo Versi, Senior VP of Marketing at HTC has been actively speaking to users through Twitter updates.

As the VP in managing the product launch, Versi announced that users of the HTC One M8 on the T-Mobile network would begin receiving Android Lollipop OS 5 updates on Feb. 9th.

He tweeted on Feb. 6th, "HTC One (M8) T-Mobile owners! Lollipop OS Technical Approval has been received! OTA to start on Monday."

T-Mobile user updates are closely following the Sprint updates that started on Friday, Feb. 6th. T-Mobile users that have not seen updates to their phones are instructed to check the settings on their phone, and access system update were the HTC software update should be stored.

All these confirmations have encouraged other Android users that their updates are right around the corner.

Versi responded to critics regarding delays. "If you've been following the progress of this rollout you will know that Google has had to address several issues with the release," Versi said, "We are taking every precaution to ensure the rollout is right and we aren't willing to compromise at your expense."

HTC said that any remaining carriers should receive updates within the between February 13th and 16th. The Android 5.0 Lollipop updates have been of interest to those monitoring the changes to the Android interface.

These updates have been pushed to millions of Android users. Last year, according to Statistic Brain, 1,175,450,000 Android phones were sold worldwide last year and these new changes are sure to bring in more handset users.
