'System Shock' Remake Release Date: Game Arrives In 2017; Story Will Remain True To Original?

With the user interface and the graphics that we have these days, a lot of opportunities are coming for the developers to remaster one of the best games they ever created back when technology was still an Achilles heel. Like what the movie industry is doing: making reboots of super hero, sci-fi and fantasy movies; the gaming industry will look to do just the same.

Night Dive Studios is currently working on a remastered edition of 'System Shock.' The developers said that they are trying to come up with ways to improve the game while at the same time, trying to keep the story as the same as the original game.

According to Models World News Galleries, the developers of the game said that they promise to "keep the game true to the classic experience, keeping all the things you loved, while updating the user interface and graphics to use a modern day engine."

System Shock artist, Robert Waters, is currently focusing on the recreation of the game's look. Warren Spector, a legendary designer in the field, is also involved with the project. The game is reported to come out in 2017, if successful and well-funded. The studio has teased a "Kickstarter" to help support the project financially.

System Shock is a first-person action role-playing video game in the 90's, developed by Looking Glass Technologies and published by Origin Systems. The original System Shock was critically acclaimed and had received a lot of high scores from review aggregators. PC Gamer scored it the highest with 96 percent. Critics said that the game was fun and as well as challenging; preferring it over Doom.
