Sylvester Stallone New Movies News 2015: 'Rambo: Last Blood', 'Creed' Films in the Works
Up until recently, there was virtually no sign of a fifth installment of the 'Rambo' franchise. But a few days back, celebrated actor Sylvester Stallone announced that he will be appearing for the fifth and final time, in the film series based on the David Morell's novel 'First Blood'.
A report by Christian Today said that 68-year-old Stallone broke the news when he took to his Twitter to draw the attention of his fans to another movie, where he appears in the role of a mafia hitman who finally joins the FBI.
However, the chain of epic movie projects from Sylvester Stallone does not end with that film. The actor has announced that he will once again put on his boxing gloves as well as his distinct game face in a new film titled 'Creed'.
In this movie, Stallone will be transforming himself into the character of Rocky Balboa again and train the grandson of his competitor boxer Apollo Creed. Michael B. Jordan will be portraying the character of Creed's grandson in the movie.
According to sources, filming for the long-anticipated 'Rocky' sequel has already started and it is expected that Stallone will be providing the latest tidbits on Twitter from time to time.
In one of the recent tweets, the actor said, "Going to Philly to start the film CREED.... What a great idea."
The website further reports that, in the meantime, Stallone will be beginning shooting for 'Scarpa', wherein he plays the role of a gang leader, by the end of the year. However, Nola reported that the schedule is likely to change depending on the heavy lineup of films featuring Stallone.
While the producers have yet to reveal the plot and confirm the release date of the last Rambo film, it is believed that the movie will hit theaters in 2016.
While the first 'Rambo' film hit the theaters in 1982, the fourth installment, which earned $113 million at the global box office, is approximately seven years old. Together, all the 'Rambo' installments earned a whopping $727 million from box office collections across the world.
