'Switched at Birth' Season 5 News, Premiere: Fans Make Petition To Stop Series Cancellation
Fans of "Switched at Birth" are doing all they can to stop the cancellation of the series.
Based on an article published by Enstarz, a petition has been going around to garner at least 2,500 signatures to help "Switched at Birth" last as long as it is originally set out to last. As of now, the petition has already garnered a total of 2,000 signatures from fans.
The petition maintains that the series deserves to remain on air as it does not only have entertainment purposes, but also teaches viewers valuable lessons about the deaf culture.
Fans hope that the petition may garner enough signatures and bring it to the attention of television networks and producers.
A fan who signed the petition said: "This show has brought me and many others hours of joy, and though the show has to end sometime I believe we are nowhere near that time yet, this show still has lots to give and a lot more to give."
"After watching the first season of this show I gained a high interest in sign language and deaf culture. 'Switched at Birth' is an amazing show and deserves more time before it is ended," another statement read.
Last week, the creator of the series announced that the fifth season of the series will not air this April, and said she was just as sad as disappointed about the extension as everyone else. However, she assured fans that the next season will be amazing and worth the wait.
The last episode of season 4 showed Bay and Daphne receiving a bad news via a phone call.
"Switched at Birth" Season 5 is expected to premiere on Freeform sometime in 2017.
