'Survivor: Kaoh Rong' Cast, Premiere: Scot Joining First Pro Athlete To Win $1 Million Prize?

For the past few editions of "Survivor," there have been a couple of former professional athlete who took a shot at winning the show's ultimate prize. However, none has been successful so far. Scot Pollard could probably change that.

Scot will be joining in "Survivor: Kaoh Rong." The 40-year-old Pollard has the chance to be the first pro athlete to win the $1 million ultimate prize.

The six-foot-eleven NBA veteran out of Kansas (college) was drafted 19th overall by the Detroit Pistons in the 1997 NBA draft. Pollard was most active in the NBA when he played for the Sacramento Kings and the Indiana Pacers.

He was lucky enough to be part of the Celtics Championship team back in 2008. He was able to get an NBA Championship ring even though he didn't play much in the team ran by Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, Ray Allen and Rajon Rondo.

According to ENSTARS, he said that his inspirations in life are his father and his college coach, Roy Williams. He said that his father has blessed him with good genes while at the same time good guidance (until his father passed away). Coach Williams on the other hand, was able to teach him good work ethic.

The NBA champion added that he is a "great teammate" and he knows how to help others become better performers when it comes to competitions. He is confident to win it all since he has the ability to outsmart his opponents.

So far, former MLB player John Rocker and former NBA player Cliff Robinson are the only former athletes to be part of the "Survivor." Both have fallen way way short. Rocker was the third to go while Robinson was the fifth. With early walk of shames coming from two of his co-athletes, will Pollard's fate be different from the rest?

"Survivor: Kaoh Rong" premieres Wednesday, February 17, 8 p.m. ET/PT only on CBS.
