Surface Pro 5 News, Rumors, Specs: Next Release Date Set For Spring 2017?

The release date of the Surface Pro 5 wasn't announced during the Oct. 26 event, so will the device be unveiled in March 2017 instead?

If the Surface Pro 5 wasn't released recently, maybe it lends credence to all the rumors that Microsoft is waiting on Intel's Kaby Lake as well as the Windows 10 Redstone 2. But without the confirmation from official news channels, everything is just speculation at this point.

Instead of the Surface Pro 5, Microsoft launched the Surface Book i7 and the Surface Studio, which is an innovative piece of desktop especially with the Surface Dial-a hockey puck-like device which can allow the user to easily toggle, click, rotate and navigate through the screen display thereby cutting the time for each task.

According to rumors, the Windows Redstone 2 won't be coming out until the spring of next year, while the Kaby Lake processor won't be commercially available probably in January. That probably explains the delayed Surface Pro 5 release date.

As to the price for the Surface Pro 5, there's nothing to go on but the rumors as well as the cost of the Surface Pro 4, which was fixed at $899 for the entry level. The specs for that include 4GB of RAM, Intel Core M3, 128GB of internal storage and stylus. A higher end device may go at around $1,000 while the i7 model can go as high as $1,600.

Watch out for more news and rumors on the Surface Pro 5 ahead of the release date probably early next year.
