Surface Pro 5 News: 2017 Release Date Is Finally Confirmed?

Various reports about the release date of Microsoft Surface Pro 5 have changed so much, it's hard to keep track of them all.

Now, however, a report from PC Advisor has given more credence to a 2017 release date for the Surface Pro 5.

However, there's a bit of interesting news that can be gleaned from the article: Microsoft may be working on more than one Surface device. It pointed to a leaked photo of a window display from Microsoft's Building 88, where there are teasers for "2016" and another one that says "coming soon."

For instance, it noted that the Surface Pro 4 was launched by Microsoft in October 2015 and that means launching an updated version just a year later would be very unlikely. That logic alone contradicts earlier news about the release date for the Surface Pro 5 being this year.

Previous rumors have alleged that Microsoft will launch the Surface Pro 5 in June this year, but the month came and went and there was no announcement from the tech giant.

According to Mobile & Apps, it's more likely that Microsoft will delay the release date for the Surface Pro 5 to wait for Redstone 2 or Intel's Kaby Lake processor. It said that while there's a very slim possibility that Microsoft can still spring a surprise by announcing the release date in October this year, it's more likely that March 2017 would be the launch date.

However, it must be said that there's no official word from Microsoft about the release date for the Surface Pro 5 so all these are just speculation for now.
