Surface Pro 4 Release Date Rumors: Microsoft to Launch of Multiple Models of Laptop-Tablet Hybrid This Fall?
If rumors turn out to be true, Microsoft's upcoming tablet-laptop hybrid dubbed Surface Pro 4 is likely to take a swipe at Apple's iPads. Speculated to be launched this Fall, the upcoming edition of Microsoft Surface Pro is likely to come in a number of sizes.
According to Christian Today, a number of reports claim that the Surface Pro 4 will have a 10.1-inch screen display, same as its predecessors. On the other hand, there are reports that the upcoming device will sport an 8-inch screen display with a view to compete with Apple's iPad Mini, Google's Nexus 9 as well as devices in Samsung's Galaxy Tab lineup. It is also being rumored that the purported Surface Pro 4 will come in two models - 12-inch and 14-inch versions. In any case, producing the device in a number of sizes may prove to be an advantage for Microsoft, as it will be able to meet the requirements of different segments of the market.
Even if the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 is made available in different sizes, it is likely that the tablets will have similar specs and features, for instance quad HD (2160 × 1440 pixels) screen resolution and new Intel Broadwell processors coupled with a higher RAM than 8 GB. In addition to these, it is very likely that the different models of the upcoming device would be running with the Windows 10 operation system, which Microsoft is scheduled to release later this year.
While Microsoft has yet to confirm whether or not it is developing the Surface Pro 4 and if it will be launched this fall, it would just right for the Redmond-based tech giant to introduce a new tablet alongside the Windows 10 OS. Already, Microsoft has made the Technical and Consumer previews of Windows 10 public, disclosing the key features of the operating system, for instance the virtual assistant Cortana as well as the seamless incorporation of the desktop OS to its mobile version, allowing universal apps work in both platforms.
Meanwhile, prolonging the deals it offered during Christmas, Microsoft is still offering huge discounts on the Microsoft Surface Pro 3. Many view this as a preparation for the launch of a successor to the current model.
